Localizing sprites

This method allows you to create multiple sprite localizations without changing the rest of the project.

Note

To enable sprite localization, you need to create translation files for all the languages you need.

Adding animations

To create a localized sprite:

  1. Create a sprite in Construct 3.
  2. Add new animations with the required language codes to the animation list.
  3. Add the appropriate graphics for each animation.

Warning

To create a localized sprite, simply add new animations with your desired language codes to the sprite's animation list.

Example of a localized sprite:

Video of how it works in Construct 3: on the left side of the screen is the graphics editor tab, showing a cloud sprite with text inside. On the right side of the screen, the "Animations" folder is open, containing the "ar", "en", "ru", "tr", and "hi" files. When the user clicks the "en" file, the text in the cloud sprite changes to English; when they click "ru", the text changes to Russian, and so on.

To test the sprite localization, click the Play button (preview). In the Preview window, the sprite animation will change to the one that matches the player's current language.

Construct 3 screenshot: in the Editor window (left), a cloud sprite is selected, containing text in Arabic: "دمج الوجوه". In the Preview window (right), the cloud sprite contains text in English: "Merge faces".
